Homeschooling through difficult times

Our support worker is off this week for a much needed vaction.  My husband booked this week off as well.

In the last week or so our world feels like it has been tilted sideways.  My husband has had some health problems.  An ultrasound revealed a mass in his abdomin.  The specialist ordered a Cat scan which was done yesterday.  Now we begin the uncomfortable wait until we find out what we need to deal with and how.  The doctor already indicated that surgery may be necessary.

I am finding it extremely difficult to keep focused on schooling while my head and heart are pulled in other directions.  A friend from our homeschool group wrote last week about the importance of taking a break to look after ourselves when we need to.  This week is going to be one of those times.  I am expending lots of nervous energy cleaning and preparing for advent.  Our Christmas may be more topsy turvy than usual but we will have Christmas none the less.  Focusing on our favourite traditions and  activities will keep me going as we keep waiting for answers.

If you are so inclined any extra prayers sento ur way would be much appreciated.
