Taking the Ups With the Downs

After a great start yesterday Andrew woke with a migraine today.  He was in a migraine fog for most of the day.  He was a ble to complete a couple of tasks but that was it.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Both boys did get their academic and personal goals typed up and posted at their desks.  It is great to see them taking on increased responsibility and ownership.  The plan is that we will revisit the goals at the beginning of each month to assess what has been accomplished and what still needs work.  The goals this year focus on organizational skillssuch as using planners effectively, keeping notebooks organized and staying on top of homework.  Personal goals include menu planning (the boys each make dinner once a week), music practice, volunteer hours and getting together with friends.

Onwards and upwards... tomorrow is another day.

  1. Migraines -ugh! I have been sending Izak to school with advil each day this week, expecting one to hit at any moment - the weather has been so volitile. It finally hit me how significant they have become when I realised how important it was to list migraines in the health concerns section of an admin form for school. So sorry that Andrew had to deal with one on Day 2 of school, but it is good that you brought attention to the issue in relation to education. Can really throw a wrench in a days lesson plans huh?

  2. Fortunately for Andrew the migraines have decreased from 6-8 a week to 4-5 month. The improvement has been significant since he has been working on posture and neck alignment.

We have found that it is better to lest the migraine and fog pass before resuming any significant academic activity.
